Congratulations to the City of Norfolk, the Greater Norfolk Economic Development Foundation, Norfolk Area Economic Development Council, and NeighborWorks Northeast Nebraska on breaking ground on a new 178-unit apartment project! Named “The Foundry” as a nod to nearby Nucor Steel, this project will include one-, two-, and three-bedroom floorplans to provide much-needed housing for a variety of family sizes. NeighborWorks Northeast will provide a 5-year construction loan for the project, made possible through a 2022 Rural Workforce Housing Fund award. When the loan is repaid, funds will be reinvested into housing projects in Norfolk. We look forward to the Foundry’s ribbon cutting! City of Norfolk, Nebraska, Norfolk Area Chamber of Commerce
